Gliders
Coming Soon
What is a glider used for?
Gliders collect measurements for the scientists. These measurements include factors such as water temperature and salinity, concentrations of chlorophyll, fluorescence for the health and biomass of phytoplankton, recording acoustics for sounds from krill and whales in the water, etc.

Gliders collect ocean data EVERY TWO SECONDS!!
How does a glider work?
These underwater gliding robots are able to change their buoyancy to sink and climb through the ocean instead of using propellers!

A satellite phone sends the glider commands, such as where to go, how deep to go or even what measurements to collect.
